Looks I Love - Look 5: YSL

Anyone that knows me knows my unconditional love for Yves Saint Laurent.
The shear simplistic elegance and classic look that YSL has become famous for is one thing that influences me a lot and what I like to wear, and one day it is my dream to be the Creative Director for Yves Saint Laurent.
I hope I will make him proud, he is my hero.

Here is a look I love,
All pieces are from Yves Saint Laurent.
I love this look and I think it is classic and timeless.
Maybe suitable for a more mature man, but I would happily wear it too,
Let me know what you think?

My thoughts On: Love and Heartbreak

Sergio K

“Sergio K is the name behind the brand that has been making noise in the sleepy field of Brazilian’s menswear“.
RG magazine.

With São Paulo and Rio de Janerio fast becoming the new "Fashion Destinations", I think it is important that people start becoming more aware that Brazilian fashion does not just consist of Bikini's and Beach wear.

At only 29 years old, Sergio K is already making a name for himself, not only in Brazil, but around the world with collaborations with brands such as Reebok and working with major names in the Fashion industry such as Photographer Terry Richardson and models Sean O'Pray, Jon Kortajanena and David Gandy, creating a remarkable reputation for the brand, known also so it's "cool elegance".

According the Brazilian fashion consultant Gloria Kalil, “There is no way of going anywhere cool in Sao Paulo and not find at least three men wearing a Sergio K´s polo shirt. Created two years ago, the brand has conquered more and more space in the Brazilian's wealth wardrobe“.

Part of the great success of the brand comes from Sergio K understanding his clients feelings and what it is exactly what they want and keeping the prices competitive in order to stay attractive and accessible to the majority of Brazilian men and also by controlling a very active Social Media campaign with avid followers and being a regular on the "Trending Topics" page.

Now, Sergio K is hoping to expand it's business to more opportunities outside of Brazil and would like to get in contact with more potential clients around the world.

Gucci - "Passport Chic" Accessories Lookbook

Karl Lagerfeld

"I don't go to the beach for inspiration.
You just get brown and dumb there.

Holidays were invented for people who go to the same place every day and do the same thing.
They need a break.

I don't need that.
I have a lot of variety in my life."

Julian & Maddalo

"Of the manic I can give no information.
He seems, by his own account, to have been disappointed in love.
He was evidently a very cultivated and admirable person when in his right senses.
His story, told at length, might be like many other stories of the same kind:
the unconnected exclamations of his agony will perhaps be found a sufficient comment for the text of every heart."

Guerlain by Emilio Pucci Campaign

(Model: Natalia Vodianova)

For the second time, Guerlain chose to work with the "Prince of Prints": Emilio Pucci. As symbol of pop culture in the 60s, the pair has now created a colourful kaleidoscopic makeup collection with inspiration from small Italian ports and "Art de vivre" with a touch of Parisian dolce vita from Guerlain.

(I don't know much about Make-up so for a full description and to purchase the collection, click here to go to the Sephora page.)

Update - Why Marc Jacobs wore a dress to the Met Gala

" 'I just didn't wanna wear a tuxedo and be boring.'

And - far from being boring - the spring/summer 2012 Commes des Garcons look also honoured the two heroes of the night, he revealed.

'I think Miuccia Prada is such a celebration of the unconventional and so it felt like, appropriate, somehow. They are two women [Schiaparelli and Prada] who I have always loved the work of; I mean Schiaparelli is one of my all-time heroes and Miuccia Prada continues to be a hero of mine. I am looking forward to seeing the exhibition.' "

(Taken from - "Met's Most Daring?": By Lauren Milligan for Vogue.co.uk)

Whatever his reasoning may be for wearing it, and even though I didn't like the outfit and thought it was boring, I still give him props for doing it. The man has guts.

Marc Jacobs at the Met Gala

Marc Jacobs has long been known for his creativity and genius, and is one of the most respected figures in the fashion industry. He is also known to be a fan of not necessarily cross-dressing, but wearing women's inspired clothes, such as skirts and dresses, like this dress from Comme Des Garçon Mens Spring/Summer 2012.

(He wore the exact same one in Black at the Louis Vuitton show for Paris Fashion Week)

Last night was the annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and Twitter was ablaze with reports of who was wearing what and wanna-be fashion journalists and critics giving their opinions,

and Marc shows up like this:

Personally I like the Comme des Garçon one better.

This outfit. ...
Well, I think it is boring, it makes me feel nothing even when I first saw the picture, I wasn't shocked.
The general styling is very bad and is in bad taste.
It was cool when he wore the Comme des Garçon one, now is just an over kill.
It makes me think that he is trying too hard to be different and out there.

The outfit could have looked better if he had just worn a pair of black underwear instead of those awful white ones or just a pair of tailored, slim fit pants under the dress.

The shoes, whilst a lot of people don't like them, I don't generally mind them but, I do mind that he has been photographed in them twice before and it is time for a change now.

I think the lace shirt will be a cool trend though, the dress thing well maybe, maybe not.
I have been thinking of having my tailor make me a lace shirt one and a pair of high wasted black pants, just not have it as sheer as this one that Marc Jacobs is wearing.

We'll see.
:)

Burberry Brit White Collection

Following one of this seasons biggest trends, it very fitting that the Fashion powerhouse Burberry has released a collection featuring their iconic Trench Coats in this seasons most trendy colour - white.

The coats defiantly have the warmer summer weather in mind as they are all lightweight and made of breathable fabrics which defiantly gives the collection a very easy and refreshed feel to it. The collection also features ready to wear and accessories.

Burberry has also released two limited edition Summer fragrances to go with the collection.

The collection will be available from Burberry stores in time for Summer.
