Is this really necessary?

When Jeanne Lanvin founded Lanvin in 1909, I highly doubt this is what she had in mind as a Campaign 100 years later. The clothes and setting are absolutely amazing, but four models dancing mindlessly to Pitbull?

Pitbull and Lanvin must please NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER mix again.
(That's just my personal opinion)

A more suitable partnership would be with Florence and the Machine I think.
OR maybe Alber Elbaz (The short fat man in the end of the Video dancing with the two male models AKA Lanvin's Creative Director) should take a note from Inez van Lamsweerde, Vinoodh Matadin and Stefano Pilati who were responsible for YSL Fall/Winter 2010-2011 campaign Video. That was absolutely impeccable. The link for that said video can be found on the left side of this blog under "YSL Fall/Winter 2010-2011 Campaign Video" or right below for those of you too lazy to look for it-

The Lanvin video, and the Karl Lagerfeld short film "The Tale of The Fairy" (The links for Part One and Two can be found on the left hand side under "Inspiration" (Sorely for the Fashion, I promise)) are two examples of why Models, unless extremely talented as Actors and Dancers should just stick to Modelling. Watch the Lagerfeld films and you will know exactly what I am talking about.

Aren't Models just meant to be like Breathing Clothes Hangers anyway?

The Kooples (Left Arrow, Three)

I hope that one day my significant other and I will be casually strolling down the streets of Paris and a Photographer will be like "Hey! Vous voulez etre en annonce 'The Kooples'". And we will be seen in every L'Officiel Hommes magazine and live happily ever after in our Parisian apartment on Le Champs-Élysées
with tastefully chosen light fittings from Lalique and our 5 Quadlingual children dressed in Hermes.

(This is the part if I did have a significant other I would type some Lyrics and put a dedication to them with a (Left arrow, Three (Which if you didn't get in the title is a "<3", because for some reason it wont let me put a "<" in the title)).

But since I don't, this posting can be dedicated to my favourite couple Braden and Storm for their 3 month anniversary which was on Sunday <3.

Givenchy

The Man Himself
Hubert de Givenchy
(Can't be too sure though. I don't really trust Google)
Beautiful, Ugly, Innovative or Hideous.
I don't really care.
Givenchy is Genius.
So, this one day this guy I know were having an argument above whether the Givenchy advert above could be considered art. The conversation ended with him saying his friend that studied art (As in Painting, not Photography) said that the photographer was abused as a child and had murder like instints. ...
Um, yeah. ...

Givenchy, the Fashion house for Murderers. ...
Could catch on.

(For all of you interested, I really suggest checking out the Givenchy Spring/Summer and Fall Winter Haute Couture 2011 Collections)
Have a good weekend everyone!

Cute Right?

Ray-Ban. Never Hide :)

La Chanson des Vieux Amants

Jacques Brel

The Charlie Books??

Charlie is genius, right; he's made from a million pieces of old bubble gum, ha, imagine that! In the summer of 1976, on his way home from an Alice Cooper concert, Charlie started to melt onto the pavement; It was too hot in LA, and he melted like a pink bitch, Ha ha ha ha ha! Luckily though, there was Eric Phillips, a local crocodile who dabbled in black magic. He took pity on Charlie and scraped him off the floor with a pair of fish slices. He poured him into an antique soup ladle and boarded his magic carpet, ha ha! Destination Alaska! Eric Phillips decided to refreeze Charlie, but in his cold-blooded reptilian haste, he refroze him into to the shape of a hoover - "I wasn't thinking." Charlie wasn't fazed though, he just zoomed about the place sucking up Inuits "ha ha … oh." The Inuits didn't mind, they loved it in Charlie's pink tight warm belly pouch, and they refused to come out. Charlie said "I'm cool with that," and set fire to a posh hammer to make it official. "I appear to be on fire." The downside was that the Inuits suffocated immediately. It was air-tight in there. Charlie panicked and fired the tiny Inuit bullets into Eric's crocodile peepers. "After all I did for you … oooh." The green shape was frozen. After a quick drink Charlie stole Eric Phillips magic carpet and left for Seattle. Charlie was racked with guilt, he'd killed 50 Inuits, no-one needs that. He decided to spend the rest of his life putting small hairstyles onto boots, monkey nuts, trumpets and spanners.

Amazing Show :D

Best Quote Ever:
(Season 3, Episode 4) Evan Chambers to Catherine:
"She may be afraid of trees, but when push come to shove, she doesn't let you drink the shampoo. ...
No matter how good it smells. ..."
In whispers to the last and greatest of all human dreams;
for a transitory enchanted moment man must have held his breath in the presence of this continent,
compelled into an aesthetic contemplation he neither understood nor desired,
face to face for the last time in history
with something commensurate to his capacity for wonder.

Timeless.

Desiderata-Max Ehrmann

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

I first saw this poem on my friend Cynthia's blog (http://littlepensieveofcynthia.blogspot.com/) and for that chance encounter, I am forever greatful. Pretty amazing, isn't it?
Everyone has their own signs of madness, therefore one can't lable people as there are no standards by which to judge.

Absurdism

"The Philosophical and literary doctrine that human beings live in essential isolation in a meaningless and irrational world."

-I studied it in Drama. It's pretty intese and questions everything you know. Give it a look-up and see what you think. ...?

First Post. Please be Kind :)

Hello, Bojour, Salute, Hola and all that Jazz :).

Well, for my first blog, let me explain myself. .....(It seems appropriate, don't ya think?)

Well, I was bullied and tortued into this by my BFF Storm (She is pretty awesome, follow her blog: http://stormmudde.blogspot.com/, its a swell ol time :D ). Well not really tortured, more like introduced and then encouraged to.

If you have seen on my side bar, "About Me" thing, you would have noticed my: "Irrational fear of 'The Muppets' and 'Sesame Street' ", and you are probably thinking "What the ****, how can someone be scared of them, they are so cute and aborable".....No, they really aren't. When I was little, I always had nightmares about Big Bird comming and eating my head whilst I was sleeping! Hence my insomnia and general hatred of sleep. I really love night-time though, I am just full of contradictions. I hate 'The Muppets' too, because of Miss Piggy...She just freaks me out because her boobs like take up her whole torso! Who does she think she is? Lolo Ferrari??

Anyways, I love the 1930's-1960's. I wish when I grow up I could invent a time machine so I could go back in time and live in Paris in the time when Coco Chanel pretty much ruled the city. I just want life to be like a Black and White film (I seriously do with I could only see in Black and White. It makes everything seem so much more chic). I also love Edith Piaf (In my spare time I practise rolling my "R's" like she does when she sings "Non, je ne Regrette Rien", and I have finally nailed it!!), Juliette Greco, Claude Debussy, Jacques Brel and Leo Ferre. If only they could come back and we could offer Justin Bieber and The Jonas Brothers.

Well, thats just a basic summary of what I can think of right now. We'll talk soon :).
