Feature: Jylle Navarro

(This scarf may be my new favourite thing I want to own)

Already having created for Nicki Minaj and presented at Alternative Fashion Week 2012 London Based knitwear designer Jylle Navarro is fast becoming a one to watch in Avant-Garde Fashion.

For her 2013 collection, insertion was taken from from classic horror novels and films such as "Frankenstein", "The Swamp Thing" and "The Walking Dead", this daring, graphic and neon collection is defiantly one to bring back fun and frivolity back into this serious business.

The garments are make in a variety of techniques including macramé, hand and machine knitting in heavy unconventional materials and a mix of different yarns and create a supernatural feel to the collection.

Making use of oversized and embellished pieces, the collection incorporates the key to Jylle's business ethic of gender neutrality, sustainability and a non-conformist attitude.

"With my asymmetric shapes, layering, fringing, draping and use of neon brights, I'm continuously pursuing the boundaries of bold artwork, diverse statement pieces and a daring approach to knitwear."
- Jylle Navarro.

Jylle's garments are currently available from:
172 - Bricklane, London
Happy Shack - Camden, London
and online from the ASOS Marketplace

MY FAVOURITE LOOK OF ALL TIME

The Box said Eggplant

Yeah, this was meant to be Eggplant purple, but it actually turned out like Magenta/Fuscha (I don't know how to spell it).
But
I FUCKING LOVE IT. ...
My Mom doesn't though.
And my Dad doesn't want to walk with me in the street when they come to Paris.
:-/

So, if you see a tall, awkward, skinny, white guy with Magenta hair around Paris come say hi.
I give free hugs
:)

To celebrate my new hair, I completely re-did the appearance of my blog.
That and because I got bored.

Listen to this;
I love Sky Ferreira.
She is really pretty too, like the classic "Heroin Chic" girl.

Azealia Banks - Esta Noche

My Paris Fashion Week Anthem

Paris Fashion Week

Since this is my first time living in Paris, this year also marked my very first PARIS FASHION WEEK, and it was by far probably the best week of my life.

This is my new favourite person Louis, he is a Blogger from Roma/Milan (His blog is louisviaroma.blogspot.it and twitter @Louis_Via_Roma)

Louis and I

On Wednesday, we sat Front Row at The Mugler show.
The collection was okay I guess, nothing crazy exciting but I really loved the shoes.
Check my video of the Finale below.

Bryan Boy was there, and so was Kyle Anderson.
Bryan looked like he was wearing a jacket made from Azealia Banks's green weave.
I was just happy I got a free bottle of Angel that I can give to my sister for Christmas.

Next we went to Café de Flore for Cocktails before the Mugler Afterparts.

Louis had eggs too but overpriced coffee is more my thing, so I just had that.

Azealia Banks, Sky Ferreira, Nicola Formichetti, The Misshapes were also at the Mugler Afterparty and one of my new style Icons, Susanne Bartsch (Below).
There I met Greg Krelenstein from the Misshapes (Pictured above with me).
He is really cool, and his music is awesome.

(Like her hair? I know the Pretty girl that does it, but more about her just now)

That was one of my most favourite nights ever, but the rest of the week was just as amazing.
On Thursday, I was very very very annoyed because I missed the Balmain show because I had class and the day got even worse when I found out Louis (who did get to go) had been photographed by Bill Cunningham :-/.

Next was Le Perle and the Surface to Air party in Le Marais.
I had to run to meet Louis and Margo (or Marco. ...I haven't quite figured out his name) and I got quite drunk on the free champagne. I look like a looser because I ran to meet them right after school and I still had my school bag with my sewing supplies in. ...Thank goodness the Bouncer didn't check my bag.

I don't really remember much from this night, But I do remember going to Silencio and Cha Cha? I don't know.

SATURDAY NIGHT was probably my favourite out of all.
I don't have any photos from then, but we went to Le Tigre.
I also met Elliot (www.eliottandthebeati.com and @EliottMnl), and Giuliano (hhholy.blogspot.fr and
@HOLY_SPICE), both of them are crazy nice and fun guys. Elliot even let me borrow his scarf because it was so crazy cold.
(Im not used to this whole "European Autumn" thing).
I also met this really nice guy dressed in a skirt, he looked like a Givenchy Model. He has the coolest style everrrrrrrrr.
Yeah, I only got home that night at like 15:00 the next day and had to work on an assignment with only 1 hour sleep.
Never try mix being a Fashion student with Fashion Week.

Monday was my final Fashion Week night, and it was Crazy.
I met Louis (who tricked me into going out by saying it was his last night in Paris when it actually wasn't) and Giuliano for the The is New York Party at Le Régines.

(Me in the Kenzo Cap, Louis and Giuliano in the white shirt)

At the party, Greg played (it was like his party after all I think) and I met this Pretty Lady. She is Raquel (raquelmartuscelli.com/), and she is responsible for Susanne Bartsch's amazing hair styles, and she is like really pretty too.
(Photo from: louisviaroma.blogspot.fr)

Kanye West, Sky Ferreira and Alexander Wang were also there, but I had to leave early because I had school the next day, but before I left I stole Louis's skirt and was spinning around the Champs Elysees. It was a lot of fun. I should do it again sometime.

Anyway, it was an amazing week and I met the most amazing people ever.
The first of many more fashion weeks to come.
Miss all you guys.

Yeah, my life is very boring now

The Drums - Days

And our days go by
And I never needed you
And our days go by
And I never needed you

And I worked so hard
And I killed myself
And you broke my bones
And I sold my soul

Amanda Lepore is just everything

l'Ecole Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode

This week was my first week at ESMOD (Thats why I haven't blogged the past few days. I have been quite busy). So far, I don't have that much to say, but it is everything I have hoped it would be.

I have classes in the afternoon, and in the afternoon are two classes, in those two classes there are about 45 students and out of those 45 students, there are about 20 different nationalities.

Pretty cool right?

I love it so much.
Here are some pictures from my first week.

On orientation day, I had to collect my mannequin, book, supplies and all that stuff.
Trying to carry it all by myself around Paris was the hardest thing I have ever had to do and it was so embarrassing because I kept on dropping everything.
When I finally got a taxi, he started laughing and was seriously like
"What the fuck is all this shit".

I wish I could have seen myself and laughed at this skinny ass white boy carrying all these things.
OH, btw my school is like older than the country I come from and it is where the Tape Measure and the Mannequin were invented.

This is my mannequin Vivienne. She is pretty cool.
She is single long walks on the beach and Vivaldi, so call me if you want a date with this beauty
;).

I think she has become suicidal after listening to all my drama and depressing movies and music I have.

Yes, my school is prettier than yours.

In such a beautiful building, how can you not be inspired to create something wonderful?

C'est Très Cool

It is so strange for me to think that you have Notre Dame, this like 1000 year old church, and a few metres down the road you have Centre Pompidou.

A side not always seen :)
(Its the underside of the Eiffel Tower if you couldn't tell)

C'est Jolie :)
